Our Preschool Program
Mixed Ages
Mixed age groups are important in a child’s development particularly in their social and emotional development. In our open classroom environment, children learn how to care, help, work and cooperate with one another.
Young children learn by observing and modeling the older children with how to solve their own problems and to self-regulate allowing them to become more independent and having to rely less on adults. Older children learn to exercise patience as they teach the younger children and practice leadership skills that they have learned from their teachers.
Large Group
Our circle time gatherings are routine opportunities designed to give each child time to share their experiences. This is also a place where we gather to review our learning theme, introduce new material, ask our question of the day, establishing learning and activity goals.
Small Group
Small group activities occur throughout the day allowing teacher’s to focus on the individual needs of each child. These needs are assessed by the teachers own interaction with the children and their observation of them at play.
